Danish singer and songwriter MØ released her fourth studio album, Plæygirl, in May. This album marks the rebirth of a Danish career.
MØ has released four studio albums, three extended plays, and twenty-four singles, plus six as a featured artist. The Danish artist was at the forefront of Scandinavia’s glacial synth-pop wave of the 2010s. Plæygirl marks her first album in three years, since Motordrome (2022).

Plæygirl is complete with Alice Cooper-style face paint and features expertly produced synths and big electro beats. The album is produced by Nick Sylvester and MØ’s longtime collaborator, Ronni Vindahl, and includes a collaboration with Irish singer and rapper, Biig Piig.
The album is not unlike Charli XCX’s Brat gone a bit goth.
